Summer Camp 2017 Halftime Report

Dear Parents/ Guardians,

Week 4 has come to an end, and we are now beginning week 5 of our summer camp program. We are half way through the summer! This past week members attended the Capron Zoo, along with other various activities and programs here at the club. Those programs included Boys and Girls Club of America programs like Smart Girls, Street Smarts, Kids Cooking Kroner, and more.

This week the members will be going to Douglas State park, and their weekly Webster Lake trips. We have closed sign ups to our Tri State Speed way field trip for August 10th. We are now opening registration for the first 25 members for our Mohegan Bowl field trip which will take place August 2nd at 1pm, members will return around 3:30pm that day. For $9.00 at Mohegan bowl members will get 1 hour of bowling, a $15 arcade card, and one soft drink.

Our junior staff, recruited via our national Career Launch program, are now in full swing. Our diverse group of young men and women are developing into budding youth development professionals as they continue to strengthen the professional and personal skills fostered through Career Launch and their first few weeks on the job. Through our partnership with the Worcester Community Action Council, we have been able to provide an additional eleven young people job opportunities for the summer as well as our own six. We have high expectations, but also high hopes for these aspiring young staff members.

As a reminder to all payment is due the Friday before your child is enrolled for the week of camp. To reserve a spot for your child for any field trips a payment must be made. There are 24 additional slots for Mohegan Bowl, slots come on a first come first serve basis.

If you have any questions or concerns please request to speak with Lamel Moore, Program Director.

Sincerely,

Samantha Miller
Camp Supervisor
